RESIDENCIES WITH SCOTT SUTHERLAND

Bring Scott To Your School

  • “We had an awesome class today with the one and only Scott Sutherland at BU. Scott is Top Shelf for sure.”

    Mike Roylance
    Principal Tuba, Boston Symphony

  • "It was such a complete joy to welcome my friend Scott Sutherland to the campus of Illinois State University yesterday for a recital and masterclass. If you aren't familiar with Scott's work, PLEASE do yourself a favor and search him out on YouTube. He is a pioneer in the solo tuba-euphonium field and is trailblazing a new, refreshing, engaging solo recital concept. Everyone at ISU loved his recital and we can't wait to have him back in the future."

    Andy Rummel
Professor of Tuba and Euphonium, Illinois State University

  • "We often talk about the future and it remains a figment of our imagination. Having the privilege of attending one of Scott Sutherland's multimedia performances proved to me that all things imagined are possible! The artistry was virtuosic! The human senses, hearing, listening, and seeing were elevated to new heights and the expansion of musical creativity was pushed beyond status quo into the future! One of the most unique and musically appealing programs I have ever attended. I highly recommended bringing this performance to your institution or a venue near you."

    Richard A White “RAWTuba”
    Motivational Speaker
Professor of Tuba, Univ of New Mexico

  • “At Duquesne University last night, we experienced the most interesting tuba recital I’ve heard, maybe ever. Scott Sutherland’s YouTube Live show is a model of how to present a recital in the modern age. Audience participation and, through an app, interaction, is totally engaging. I would recommend this to all music schools and concert presenters.”

    James Gourlay, International Soloist
Music Director, River City Brass Band

  • “Scott Sutherland's residency at Northern Arizona University (April 2023) included a super entertaining recital and several videography projects on behalf of our Tuba & Euphonium Studio. The quality of Scott's work here (not to mention his great energy and generosity) was excellent; a strong impression was made our students, and some were inspired to reach out to him for a lesson. His brief time at NAU made a great impact and is one of the most memorable residencies I can remember.”

    Assistant Teaching Professor,
